I went in to buy an evening dress. Shopkeepers are very annoying. They will almost pull you by your arm and drag you into the shop. As a girl I felt very uncomfortable. There are 2 or 3 men in front of every door, looking at you as if they are going to eat you. The women inside are also very disturbing. And they treat me from person to person. Those who did not give me a 100 lira discount, gave someone else a 5 thousand lira discount.

When we were kids, my father used to bring us here for shopping. It was crowded back then, but now you can find whatever you want, from dowry items to evening dresses to glassware, to suit everyone's budget. It is an ideal place for those who want to experience old Ankara. It is worth seeing the restored Ankara houses on the side streets after leaving the hay market.
